What kind of person hires an organizer?

Does an organized space make a difference in how you feel and what you can accomplish there? Absolutely! Studies have proven it, and I don't think you or I need the Harvard statistics to comprehend it. Although we may have different levels of tolerance for it, clutter can become a complication for anyone. I am a believer from 15 years of experience that our environment impacts our well-being and a fresh perspective from someone with some sharp space planning and organizing skills, and dedicated helping hands, can make a difference. Whether it's a kitchen, craft room, garage, bedroom, home office, closet or bathroom-- I have seen even small transformations in dwelling spaces bring big smiles to a client's face!

But what kind of person hires an organizer? You may be surprised to hear that you don't have to be a boomer or a millennial, or single or married, or a mom, or messy or OCD to hire an organizer. Organizers are for normal people who want to be productive and happy living in a world of stuff that takes a lot of time to manage. You don't have to have a tiny house or a super large home or even an interest in Pinterest. We like the challenge of all kinds of projects. Many clients start with just a closet or a single room and as their confidence in the process grows, and the satisfaction with the outcome sinks in, they add more projects as time goes on.

There's a lot of talk about purging possessions these days, but that is only a first step. Finding the most functional ways to use the space you have and storage that suits your style is so essential and, I am happy to say, is a hallmark second step that Room Revisions offers. But, building in a system for managing the daily tide of potential clutter is the most important facet of our organizing process. When we help you discover strategies that work for you and meet the unique demands of your household, you are on your way to being free from clutter.

If you've wondered what it is like to hire an organizer, here's a snapshot of what we do:

  • Listen to your needs and design your space and organizing solutions accordingly

  • Edit and organize your space on-site with an eye to style and detail

  • Research, select, purchase and assemble any items you will use

  • Email support with you and communication with other service providers as needed

  • Remove your no longer needed items and deliver to consignment and donation centers

Finished work does require client input, but you may choose to work alongside our organizers as much as you like, or follow up our progress with a "home-work" list of your own. Organizers do what they do efficiently, but with thoughtful attention to all your concerns. The very best part? Someone ELSE will direct and manage organizing the space from start to finish. (Those piles of half-way organized stuff in closets and corners? They are universal!)

So, raise your hand if you think you, or someone you love, would appreciate a little more time and productivity in their space with less stress and clutter to deal with in the coming year! The gift of an organized space means less time managing stuff and more time to spend with the people you care about. And isn't that the very best gift of all?
